1000 pennies would be 2.350 Kg which is about 5.18 lb
500 pennies fill a 16 OZ  plastic red cup
So 5 gallon wine jug should be 20,000 (estimate would like to actually know)
500*((128*5)/16)

So the Jug should weigh about 103.6 lb
Why do people collect pennies? it cost us money for the mint to make more
I would like to see the banks reaction if someone brought in that many pennies.

My grand father had a stick of wood and he would say if you could lift it and he could pass the stick under it all three were yours!! Nobody could do it so I'm thinking it had to be more than a 100 lbs.

I did some recalculating and I came up with 16 pennies per cubic inch and the Demi-John is 1525 cubic inches. but lets not forget the demijohn weighs 10 kgs. a pennie weighs 2.6 grams I dunno it's like 138lbs of pennies. Anyway its about $242 a jug
