Well after rolling $192 of change I collected this year I've come to a few conclusions:
1, there was only enough quarters to make one roll...this means somebodies bin pilfiring my stach
2, I only found one silver dime out of 1000 of them
3, I found 1 King Edward penny out of 4250 pennies.
4, Money is extremely dirty...your mom was right don't put it in your mouth
5, A Barbados penny is the same size as ours and the US penny
6, Speaking of US pennies out all of those pennies at least 30% were US... boy are they going to be pissed if they find Canadians are stealing all their pennies
7, less than .5% of the rest was US...Hey America there was an old saying..."look after the pennies and the dollars will take care of themselves"
Jim, I think you're going through Racing Withdrawl because this has absolutly nothing to do with Racing 😀
Actually... I did the same thing, though I didn't have near the strange ratio's Jim did....
I had $187.00 but stacked a lot in quarters thankfully, about $35.00 worth.
No old pennies or silver dimes. Oldest one of any - 1960.
I had some coins mixed in there from Cuba... don't know how or why....
I had like 20 U.S. pennies and I go to the U.S. frequently...
All I know for sure, damn!! it all weighs a friggin TONNE !
And I got lazy, I didn't roll any of them, used the Loblaws Coin counter (11 % hit)..
Money isn't what it used to be, it only bought 150 litres of fuel for the truck... which I burned up in three days.
sigh...
I'm just glad I don't pay my fuel costs at work, 200-300 week. I know there's people who burn that in a day but JEEZ!
my oldest penny was a King Eddie 1928, lots of king george's but I 'm still amazed at how many american pennies I had, And I don't go to the states that often! The chineze dime was a bit of a surprise. Iwonder how long a nine year old girl has to weld Princess Auto axle stands to earn that? and how come she has to do it barefoot
