I was looking forward to hearing the recaps from the ss, mod and avss races. Thoughts opinions?
Only saw the SS and Sprint races. It was a pretty excellent show actually. Details were posted later that night here http://www.delawarespeedway.com/2007-06-08-AVSS.php
In the Super Stocks, Morneau passed Bugg, got out in front and stayed there. Good 3 way race for second between Lidster, Manning and Ouellette...Oullette seems to have it sticking on the outer lane pretty well this year. Perkins was up there with a good battle with Chris Rijnen, although Rijnen ran into some trouble. Rookie Stephen Richmond was looking good, bringing it home in 6th. Earlier in the night, Richmond came within a hair's breadth of stealing the heat win from Nagy.
The sprints were a little harder to follow. (I didn't end up with a lineup) Litt didn't run as well as he has before. At one point it appeared that he either a) somehow stalled the car while he was still moving, or b) ran out of gas. Mike Ling looked good bringing home a solid 3rd. The guy that won, Dorman Snyder dominated the race, with occasional challenges form the 2nd place finisher Bill Tyler. One of the cars, I beleive it was 2nd place Tyler, blew his motor in spectacular fashion as he was crossing the finish line at the checkers, coming to rest in turn 1 with the car still on fire. The track was red flagged and the fire was out by the time the track crew got to his car.
It was a good show! The sprints seemed to handle the surface reasonably well, and they were wicked fast and loud. I took the opportunity to sit right down in the front row for the first few laps to get the full effect, so that was pretty cool.
Wish I'd seen the mod feature, but that's the way it goes.
How was the crowd? I stayed a way and i know a few others that did, cost a lot more to get in, and only one class with fenders ;D

Actually pretty good, but it was a late crowd. They didn't come pouring in till about quarter to 8, and were still filing in during the heats. I'm no judge of crowd size, but I'd say comparable to "all features night"
