David McCullough (#39) of Glencoe held off his younger brother to win the GAW Recycling Enduro 150 Saturday evening at Delaware Speedway.  David’s win is his second of the season after he dominated the season opener in late May.  David took the lead from his brother with fifty laps to go and held off late charges which at times had his younger brother just inches off his back bumper, threatening to retake the lead even in the final laps.

“I keep his car in my garage and I just thought that he was not giving me any slack at all!” said David in Victory lane.

“That was the hardest race I’ve ever raced,” said second place Derek. “Racing with my brother, he ran me clean and I got to thank him.”

The event had three red flags, all for failures relating to axle assemblies on race cars.  All told five cars were confirmed to have axle failures during the event.  Heat race winners were Kyle Neumeister (#92) of Stratford and David McCullough (#39) of Glencoe.

Shane Thomas (#8) took the win in his Bone Stock Chaos Car “Outrun” in the division’s 25-lap race holding off Derek Moesker (#51).  The race was the division’s largest to date with 19 drivers arriving to compete in the entry-level class.  The race featured one red flag for stopped car on the back stretch which was left on speedway as an obstacle.

Next weekend at Delaware Speedway is the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series Weekend.  Friday June 22 is Police, Fire, and Ambulance appreciation night featuring King of the Hill Spectator’s Races, GAW Recycling Enduro Challenge, Coca-Cola Super Stocks, and FT Garage Late Models.  Saturday, June 23 is the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series EMCO 200 at 8:00 pm.  Tickets and weekend passes continue to be available at delwarespeedway.com or at the gate the day of the event.
