Maybe it's just me, but if they DQ your ride... they found something. Not that these little things don't happen from time to time, either way, if you get caught messing around, hide it better ;D ;D
I spoke to Paul on Sunday morning and the switch goes to no where and he can't reach it when he's belted in anyway. Seems as tech knew the switch didn't do anything performance wise, the issue was that you're only supposed to have a certain number of switches (not really found in the rules) but that was the determination. He only lost partial points, if it had been "cheating" to the extent people were thinking, he would have lost everything and probably been parked for a night or 2!
Rumor has it that some one else got caught with their hands in the cookie jar Friday night!
How can you consider a switch to your mandated rev box not be performance enhancing when the rev box is turned off. It doesn't matter if he cannot reach it when belted in or not. He can simply turn it on and when he gets in and out of the truck or just turn it on before tech inspection.
In my opinion tech has to get tough with these violations. If in NASCAR Sprint Cup only gave out warnings with you think there would be one legal car there? That is how cheating gets out of hand. What the deterrent not to cheat if there is no consequences? This just isn't a problem in Truck but all divisions I have heard at Delaware.
First of all it was not hooked up to the MSD box.
The Tech guys are doing there job, they check the MSD box by putting in a 3000 chip in it,,,,It did bark at 3000 RPM and they flicked it the other way and it killed the power of the truck!!! they did take are MSD and had it check also and its fine.
Are rules state three types of switches in the center of the truck as we did... but dose not say how many of the three types we can have in total.
We do allot of advents for are sponsors and as you know we run automatics.
If somebody man, woman,or child jumped in and started the truck possible in gear it would take off.
So instead of carrying jackstands and a jack and tools to unhook the battery I put in a kill switch way up under dash OUT OF REACH
We also have a push botton in the fire wall to set valve lash, so is that bad too.
Last year when this rule came into effect I had an ignition switch, a push button starter switch, and a alternator trip switch. I was told that we were only allowed to have two switches, a starter switch, and an ignition switch, also a main power shut off that was not included in the two switches allowed. So I had to completely remove the switch, I had come back with the alternator switch unhooked but not removed and I was told I could not pass tech until the switch was gone. Tech was being a little picky but thats the way they have to do it sometimes.
