ROBBLEE, ADRIAENSEN, NEUMEISTER GO TO VICTORY LANE

July 5, 2013
Delaware Speedway PR

Mother nature cooperated on Friday evening for Delaware Speedway’s racing program which saw Matt Robblee (#51) of Dorchester go to victory lane in the Coca-Cola Super Stocks, Gary Adriaensen (#55) of Belmont continue his winning ways in the Demar Trucks, and Kyle Neumeister (#92) of Stratford win his third race of the season in a wild Bone Stock Chaos Car 50-lap event.

The night began with the first 35 laps of a 70-lap Coca-Cola Super Stocks feature. Kris Lawrence (#28) of London was able to pull far ahead of the the other competing cars. He finished first for the first half of the feature and rolled a dice to invert his position by three spots for the second half. Jeremy Reid (#76) finished second and Kenny McNichol (#17) of Exeter finished third.

The second half of the feature was led by McNichol who held the position until lap 57 when Matt Robblee (#51) of Dorchester mounted a charge and was able to complete the pass.  Before getting up front, however, Robblee nearly got mixed up with on-track rival Jeff Showler (#56) of Mt. Elgin who on lap 17 ran into the back of Robblee while attempting a pass.  Showler had to settle for second and McNichol finished third.

Gary Adriaensen (#55) of Belmont took firm control of the Demar Aggregates Trucks feature race on lap five from Tom Zagorodny (#77) of London.  Brady Smith (#39) of Coldstream was able to, for the first time this season, mount a charge on the leader but was forced off the track with transmission problems.  The role of attacker then fell to sophomore driver Trevor Collover (#51) of Lucan who managed to chase down Adriaensen in the final laps but had to settle for second.  Zagrodny finished third in the 25-lap race which ran caution free.

The Bonestock Chaos Car 50-lap feature, was won by Kye Neumeister (#92) of Stratford who started at the back of the event.  The victory comes as his third of the season making him the only driver to win one so far.  Neumeister took the lead on lap 33 from Derek Moesker (#51) of Beachville.  Ron Proulx (#19) of London finished second, Jack Van Herk (#07) of Mitchell finished third.

The next race at Delaware Speedway is Friday, July 12 sponsored by APC Auto Parts Centres. The night will feature FT Garage Late Models in a 75-lap special, Coca-Cola Super Stocks and V8 Stocks.  Spectator gates open at 6:00 pm, racing starts at 8:00 pm

Two corrections to pass along that were my error on this one:

a) Next week's event is the regular start time.  7:30 pm, not 8 pm as mentioned in the article.

b) Neumeister's victory was his second of the season.  Derek Moesker (#51) of Beachville won the season opener.

So, one thing that I can't get over is that BOTH Super Stock 35 lappers went caution free. That's gotta be some kind of record. Great job by all.

It was great to see the 77 and 51 trucks mix it up. Made things exciting. From now on can we start the 55 in the rear? I wanna see you work for the win, Gary 😉

Once again the Bonestocks were the race of the night. It seems like this division can do no wrong. I hope the Friday night crowd enjoyed it, and will be back to show their support for the next Saturday Bonestock race.

Snotrod returns for real on July 20th. You've been warned.

The Super Stock heats went caution free flag to flag as well.

I don't know about the trucks,  I was kindof busy when they were running.

The Bonestocks?  Well there's not much chance of that happening yet,  but you never know. 🙂
