July 3rd - results thread (updated w full Shadow Report + Ramp Jump vid)

Hello all! Well, you do have my apologies for the delay this week. Unfortunately sometimes life gets in the way and this week I just couldn't manage to get the hour or 2 together to put the report together until now. I'd say it won't happen again, but I really can't make those kinds of promises. I'll post a Fri night update when I get home from the races, but full blown same-night reports are a thing of the past while I'm on the shift I currently have to work. I'll do my best to have em' up Sat or Sun though.So, the Shadow Report, Thursday edition:Demar Aggregates TrucksHeat 199-Koricina, 7-Clark, 4-Thompson, 9-ThompsonHeat 233-Rijnen, 88-Fothergill, 00-JohnsFeature The race starts with 11 Kirchener on the pole with 4-Thompson alongside, then 9-Thompson and 99-Koricina. Kirchner's one of the slower machines on the speedway tonight and is promptly passed by Koricina. Right off the bat, 88-Fothergill is antsy to get up front, and works his way along the outside to 4th place.Now the 33-Rijnen has a tire going down and has to pull it in early for a change. A couple of laps in, and Fothergill is up to 2nd spot, right on Koricina's bumper. The two leaders begin to open up a lead on the rest of the field, and the second pack consits of 56-Showler, 00-Johns, 82-Demelo and 4-Thompson.Fothergill is not wasting any time tonight and by the 5th circuit, he's on the outside of Koricina, drag racing her for 1st and completing the pass. Now Showler is up to the leaders and goes to work on Koricina. The two main battles on the speedway now are Koricina/Showler for 2nd and Johns/Demelo for 4th. Order is 88, 99, 56, 00, 82.On the 10th lap, Showler manages to muscle past Koricina to take 2nd. Now Johns is past Koricina as well and knocking on Showler's door. In the closing laps, Johns makes it a drag race between him and Showler, making the pass with only 5 to go.Fothergill has first place well in hand, and now one of the best battle shapes up for the race, and that's a great 3 way dance for 2nd place between Showler, Johns and Demelo that lasts until the end of the race.At the checkers, its 1st to Fothergill, 2nd to Johns, 3rd to Showler, 4th to Demelo and 5th to 01-Bloemendal. ------------------------------------------------Super StockHeat 15-Mairs, 48-McColl, 04-HumphreysHeat 224-Richmond, 51-Rabideau, 3-PerkinsAfter the race, Richmond parks the 24 car on pit road, jumps out, does his victory interview while climbing into the 24 modified for the next race.FeatureThe race starts with 5-Mairs on point with 48-McColl alongside, followed by 04-Humphreys and 28-Lawrence. Early off, Mairs jumps out in front while 5th place starter 84-Smith barrels past Humphreys and Lawrence to take 2nd. The lead pack forms up with Mairs, Smith and McColl opening up a little room while the rest of the pack shakes itself out.On the 6th lap, caution flies a when 7-Shields and 66-Peters get together coming out of 4 to bring out, amazingly enough, the first caution flag of the evening in any division. Now there's a sloppy restart that sees cars all over the place. Mairs continues in the lead, while 67-Hewitt goes too wide and causes the pack to scatter. No caution however, and rookie Smith is now tucking in behind Mairs. Smith is an experienced endurance racer and knows how to make it stick well on the outside. On the 9th lap, Smith makes the pass for the lead. At the crossed flags its Smith, Mairs, 11-Lidster, McColl and Humphreys.Meanwhile, back in the field, there's a great battle shaping up between 77-Lake and 51-Rabideau as the two fight tooth and nail for the spot, this lasts most of the race, at several points it goes 3 wide and in one instance getting frightfully close to taking out 60-Ott.Up front, Mairs isn't rolling over easy, and continues to push Smith hard to try and get the lead back. But then disaster strikes with another caution, when, back in the field, Hewiit cuts down on 3-Perkins coming out of turn 2, sending Perkins nose first into the inside retaining wall. Huge, huge damage for the 3 car. No black flag apparently. (and I understand there was no apology later either...musta slipped his mind.)After the green, Smith and Mairs continue in 1st and 2nd, while Lawrence now challenges Lidster for 3rd, and heat winner 24-Richmond is up to 5th. Another disaster as Lake and Rabidaeu tangle in turn 3, (while trying to get around another competitor who apparently can't hold a line, they told me later) leaving the 77 car missing a good portion of his right side sheetmetal. No caution this time though.Now the battle is for 3rd between Lidster, Lawrence and Richmond, and Lawrence comes out on top of that one.Final 1st to Smith, 2nd to Mairs, 3rd to Lawrence, 4th to Lidster, 5th to Richmond.----------------------------------------------Powerade ModifiedsHeat 157-Brooks, 70-Saunders, 38-HendricksHeat 2: 39-McCullough, 54-Limon, 1-NewmanFeatureThis...

I did overhear something about someone losing 25 pts or something like that for an infraction, but I have no idea who, or if it was even a Super Stock. (I don't tend to get into that stuff.)
