I remember seeing a small pickup nissan I believe, just killing the field when I was at brighton for some sprint car races. I think the rear leaf spring would be really forgiving on rough surfaces but tuning it for changing conditions could be an issue

As for the leaf spring rear end, it seems the G-Body Metric cars are ripping it up really well. I have to check the rules, but I may use Metric four link system in the back. As long as I use Metric body trailing arms, I don't see an advantage (other than ridding the chassis of axle wrap), but I want it to fit the rules.

I was down there last year for Daytona, and yes rates were crazy. I just couldn't get the time off for Smyrna due to wife's schedule. I've heard it's insanely expensive for that week, and loads of freezing horror stories in camping. Maybe, I will just plan it ahead for 2012.

Jeff ( brother) picked up rooms on the beach for 55 a night until the wenesday night before and then they went to 99 a night... the hotel they have has a small kitchen in it so they can keep the refreshments cold as well as have some food to snack on.. he also got a hell of deal on tickets this year and it looks like the empty seats are starting to make the marketing guys a little nervous!

They drive down in order to have a car while there..
