I was down there last year for Daytona, and yes rates were crazy. I just couldn't get the time off for Smyrna due to wife's schedule. I've heard it's insanely expensive for that week, and loads of freezing horror stories in camping. Maybe, I will just plan it ahead for 2012.

we've been going for years and years now........flight, and we spend a little more to sit up front with the bigger seats and the extra leg room, rental car, room for 11 days, and that runs us about a grand each.......maybe i'm wrong, but i'm pretty happy to pay that........and we love the hotel we stay in.

A grand isn't bad, I could live with that. But next year will be it I think. This year is watching more local dirt, and getting ours ready. Taking the S-10 to Oshweken once I start building it. Unsure if I will throw another beater in to Delaware this year... time is the issue over money. That, and I am not spending the time building a legal chassis, when I have an Oshweken legal chassis halfway done.

An S 10 with a V8 in Thunder Stock, should be interesting.
