special rewards for women implies that they're handicapped or something to start with or like a permanent rookie...don't women just want equal treatment not special treatment? Should we give a $100 bonus to the best over 50 and under 20 driver too?
basically i think that they promoters know it's slim to none chance that a girl will win seeing as there was only 1 last year....so they offer a tonne more money as incentive knowing damn well that they won't have to pay out.
if they want to patronize women drivers than give the top finishing woman a 100 dollar top lady bonus because at least it guarantees a woman winning that money as long as one shows up rather than the winners purse and maybe you will be more likely to get one or two more because they know they only have to beat one or two other ladies/drivers to get an extra 100 on top of the regular winnings....
but they probably didn't do that because they would know they would be paying that 100 out every race.
kinda cheesy....racers are racers...take that 500 bonus and add it to the winners purse for 3 enduros if you really want to do your racers good...male or female.
I for one hope a woman wins every enduro so they have to pay it out everytime because i think they'd hate like hell to part ways with the dough...
contingency awards are great but not based on gender........
to be honest i think that the extra money to win is more demeaning to the wemon drivers than the men, most of the ladies i race against at bsw are more than willing to race hard if not harder than the men for the same purse so where do thaay think this is going to help? ???
i do not believe it is discriminating that they want to add a little more purse if the ladies can win. It would be discriminating if they said that ladies cannot race based on gender. It is simply something to try and get more ladies interested. I'm sure most of them would race for the same purse as men but it's something they want to try. I still don't see any sucessful case here
