Howdy all. This isn't actually a report or anything, but just wanted to shout out that tonight was a pretty awesome show. Apologies to the guys who follow on Twitter...I was most of the way to the track before I realized my phone was still sitting on my dresser.
Great to see Devon Bloemendal and Brian Verberne back mixing it up in the truck division, Fothergill was subbing in the 55 truck, and the truck race was one for the ages....good hard racing, and some shenanigans too. (Colliver and Zagarodny won't be sending each other Christmas cards this year I guess...nor will Bloemendal and Fothergill.) Very entertaining and gives one hope that the Truck division might yet rise from the ashes.
Showler won the invitational over all, with Kris Lawrence taking checkers for the first 35 lap leg. Great to see Shawn Hewitt back in the saddle, and a hearty welcome and thanks to CROs own "SmokinJoe00" Adams, and Sunset's Kevin Albers for making the trip (I believe Albers might be a poster here as well.) Albers actually looked like he fit right in at Delly with a 6th place overall finish in a 21 car field. Great job!
Chaos Cars were entertaining as always. Hard to really report on - too chaotic. But it was nice to see Nic Ramsay in the hunt for the win. Him and Neumeister had a pretty good battle most of the race, and Nic looked like he'd be right at home on a dirt track.
Only thing missing from this race was the Snotrod.
Chaos car great moment number one was after one red flag. Apparently the officials thought that too many guys were shortcutting thru the pit lane in turn 1 and 2 so during the red they laid pylons down to mark the actual track apron...then about three laps after the restart, one guy neatly and quite deliberately mowed all those pylons down and everyone went back to cutting across pit lane.
Moment 2 was when Jordan Morris, having been deliberately spun by a guy in a red car (sorry I don't know who it was) ended up sitting dead in turn 2. He sat there playing possum for about 5 laps, then when the guy in the red car came around, Jordan gunned it and nailed him good. That guy spent the rest of the race sitting up against the turn 2 wall.
Anyway...awesome night overall. I'm sure the official report will be up come the morning. (edit....looks like it went up while I was typing)
Joe.. How did your car handle on the big track??? ::)
