Sounds like there might be a business oportunity here for an enterprising racer that has a shop and some time (I know racers don't have extra time). Hear me out. My afore mentioned Impala. When I am ready to retire her (I drive all my vehicles into the ground) I'm thinking I would like to try this racing thing once or twice (did it years ago but I was young and stupid then). I don't have a garage or a welder etc. I do have access to a trailer and can do most minor repairs as I am a tradesman. What would it cost me to give someone my Impala and have it get prepped for bare bones Enduro racing? Even if I only ran a couple times a year. If I wreck it it goes to the bone yard. When I get rid of my cars they are off to Teen Challenge for a tax receipt so I am not really losing anything to give it a try. I buy a new helmet and fire suit, maybe a hans, and away I go.

Just to add to what I have said above. If something, anything, could be done to help guys get into Enduros fairly cheaply then all the stuff that has been said about slowing these cars down wouldn't really matter anymore. It is tuff to do 25 second laps when there is 100 to 150 cars on the track. Enduro could get back to what it was in the beginning. An Endurance race. Only the strong and smart survive. Enduro now is SS with a lower (slightly) budget. I remember some races where the ONLY place you could pass was in the corners because the straights were full of dead cars! 😮

Maybe add 200 or (? ) or so laps it will be Eduro then with only one timed fill, up most completed laps wins.

O boy LOL Ideas like that are what has gotten enduro to the boredom it's at.

I know what your saying, but enduro is changed forever... there is no way around that.  One reason I mentioned that idea was because I was told by one of the track officials that the  highest attendance was late models combined with enduros on regular friday nights.  So... maybe the enduros are not so boring to some.

But, the common theme I keep seeing with all the enduro discussions is that everyone wants to see some sort of a cheap entry level class, but it seems there is no agreed upon way to acheive this.
