You should to do driver Bios..And all the drivers not just the top three in each division. The fans need to "get aquainted" with the drivers. This will undoubtedly bring them back. I've been coming here a few years and still don't know everyone. No disrespect to the front runners but the focus should be spread all the way back to struggling Joe.
Just saying is all. 😉
Actually I was thinking over the winter that it'd be cool to grab a cam and do a weekly web-show with driver interviews and such. Kinda like Wayne's World except with a racing slant.
However, that assumes me having
A: A decent cam with enough memory to do it.
B: editing skills, and
C: having all the time in the world to devote to it.
Shadow you are putting some good ideas out there. I like the driver Bios Idea. My suggestion on it is to take all the new drivers all classes and interview them about how they got started, their background and aspirations and what you think makes for a good interview. You could do a second interview at the end of the season with all you interviewed about how all turned out.
Also rookies going up class may be an addition. In the end you have a lot of possibilities video, print, calendar print on backside and audio. It in a way it would be a collectable annually (How they Started) and may be connected to a charity willing to back the project if needed.
The winners of all classes would make it complete in any particular year. In the packaging of the final product random prizes, discounts might be offered.
In my opinion the beginning driver will get something out of this, family, friends, sponsor and die hard fans who gotta know where it all started. Take it from there.
I could add a forum inside here just for driver bios if you guys need one.
