From an outsider looking in(I've never actually been to Deleware speedway) it appears that what people are asking for is exactly what chaos car is starting to become and will become with the planned changes John has in store. This is based on what John has mentioned in this thread.
I gather part of the problem is how the choas cars started and people still think the choas car's are what they were years ago and not racing.
Sounds like the track is listening to people who want a CHEAP and SAFE class to run in with 4 and 6 bangers.
To the speedway: I hope you guys can break the stigma and turn this into a big class like everybody is asking for because it sounds like what people are asking for you are giving them, and hopefully they can see this.
Are 6 cylinder cars (and maybe 4's) not allowed to run in the enduro?
If they are, where are all these cars that eevryone says need a place to run?? Why are the numbers of 6 bangers not increasing?
Is there something that needs to be done to the enduro format or purse structure that would bring these cars now?
If the ran for their own purse, would a bunch of them come out of the wood work??
At least the CC are heading in the right direction and crews are starting to build the cars. Then its just up the safety standards (already being done) and they are no longer CC's, but 4 cyl (6 cyl) enduros.
It's long been a dream of mine to race something, since I haven't been able to race anything since my gokart days. Back then I was 60 lbs heavier than the next heaviest guy and with a 5HP motor so you can get the idea. That being said, I just reclipped an Enduro that got wrecked in I think race #2. I have to work and provide for my family and after what I saw...no way. I'm not dissing the Enduro's and I'm not a pussy but with the speeds they run and safety level the cars are at I'll choose something perhaps I'm reasonably assured of being able to get to work no monday. I wanna race for fun.
This is of course my opinion on the matter and is not meant to reflect the opinions of anybody else but me and me alone.
Good work John, I think you do a bang up job and maybe I'll do a Caos thing for fun some day

Last year (and I assume still this year, John?) they provide a bonus to the highest finishing V6, or highest finishing Truck, or highest finishing 4 cylinder I think... But they're not showing up because they have no hope. If it was strictly a power/weight thing, a 2500 lb 3.1 Corsica say, would probably run similar lap times to, say, a 3500 lb Cutlass with a stock 305. But the current crop of Enduro cars are just one step below a Super Stock, both in terms of power and in terms of prep. So there's no point, other than to finish at the back AND then get that bonus.
I am Not trying to invent the wheel here,
wouldnt you think that old style racing as it was 150+ cars for the fans and the track and everyone else is more benificial then coming to an enduro and Knowing who the top five-ten is already going to be????
