These rules are tentative. I'm throwing them out here to see if there's any questions or clarifications we need to make. This thread is for questions, comments and "what ifs" only and is not a sign up sheet. Once the rules are clarified, we'll start a specific stickied thread that will act as the sign up sheet.

Delaware/CRO "Pick 3" Pool Rules

Eligibility
Any registered CRO poster who is a member in good standing, and the contest is open to fans, drivers and pit crew members. You have to indicate you understand the rules in the sign up thread, but you only have to do that once for the season.

Although we do understand that sometimes 2 profiles can operate out of a household in a family of race fans, we do reserve the right to question multiple accounts coming from the same IP address. If you are a new sign-up and you share a home with another poster, you might want to PM me and let us know who you are. We're easy to get along with.

The Process
Each week we will start a new thread to open up for picks for the next Friday night's races. That thread will close and be locked at noon on race day. If it should happen that the thread does not get locked for some reason, entries shown posted after 12pm on race day will be ineligible.

Edited entries will not be accepted. NO EXCEPTIONS. If you change your picks, you must delete your initial post and repost at the bottom of the list before the threadlock at noon on race day.

Each poster picks three drivers from each division competing that particular week, in order. Picks must include at least the driver's last name and number, so on a night where the LMs, SS and Powerade Mods are running, it would look something like this:

Late Model
1 Robblee 28
2 Ramsay 22
3 Watson 02

Super Stock
1 Perkins 3
2 Ott 60
3 Richmond 24

Powerade Modified
1 Shipway 88
2 McCullough 39
3 Newman 1

-You may pick the same drivers as another poster, but they have to be picked in a different order.

Points
Points are based on Feature/A Main finishes only. At the end of the race night, the feature results will be posted, and points will be awarded, per division, as follows:

- 5 points for each correct top 3 pick, regardless of the actual finishing order.
- 5 bonus points if the driver you picked for a win actually comes in 1st.
- another 5 bonus points if you pick the top 3 in order. (aka a sweep…ultimately worth 25 pts)

Points are then tallied up and whomever gets the most points wins the game for that week.

Ties
1st tie breaker - the win goes to whoever got the most sweeps.
2nd tie breaker – most wins called.
3rd tie breaker – greatest number of correct picks regardless of order.
4th tie breaker - In the unlikely event that its still tied, then whomever posted first wins.

Doubleheader Weekends
The Pick 3 game is geared towards Delaware’s Friday night divisions, being LM, SS, Powerade Modified and Demar Aggregates Trucks. There are a couple of times the regular divisions are spread out over 2 days, such as the Canadian Tire Weekend, ISMA Classic Weekend and the Great Canadian Weekend. On those weekends, pick the top 3 from all 4 regular divisions, and we’ll tally up the whole weekend as one pool.

Mother Nature
A washout is a washout. If it rains the features out, it’s a scratch. Brand new contest next week.

Partial. Say they get the Truck and SuperStock features in, but rains as they’re rolling out the Late Models. The night’s contest winner will be decided from the Truck and SuperStock features only. The Pick 3 contest will never carry over to the next week.

Makeup races. In the event that one division runs two features in an evening, your 3 picks from that division will stand for both races. Points will be awarded for both features.

Prizes
Each week’s prize will be 2 top gate general admission tickets to Delaware Speedway, good anytime this season for regular race nights or regular Enduros. (if you’re a driver, one ticket will get your spouse, brother-in-law, or sponsor into the grandstands.)

We’ll notify you when and if you’ve won, and we’ll work out some kind of arrangement to mail your tickets to you, or arrange pick up at the track.

maybe, just a suggestion, but if you pick the same drivers in the same order as someone else like this

Late Model
1 Robblee 28
2 Ramsay 22
3 Watson 02

Heat Ramsay 22

Super Stock
1 Perkins 3
2 Ott 60
3 Richmond 24

Heat Lake 77

Powerade Modified
1 Shipway 88
2 McCullough 39
3 Newman 1

Heat Cox 3

maybe as a tie breaker for that week out of those 3 drivers you pick one or even just a random driver pick for heat races for each division if that driver does better then the other or wins a heat race then the tie goes to the person that picked him/her if you catch my drift

You may pick the same drivers as another poster, but they have to be picked in a different order.

This one might make some extra work (and concentration, lol). Wont the tie breakers fix any problems. Would only pose a problem if all picks (all divisions) were identical and they were winning picks.

extra picks, extra work , cant see as a tie is a problem tbh
Maybe I'm missing something.
Each poster could need top go through everyones picks on 5 pages every week to double check his picks.
And after 3 weeks no sense making picks till the stats are updated on the delaware web with each drivers 3 week average so that we'll know starting positions in the feature
