"dumped" is pretty harsh for what happened. And besides, getting the black for that entails going to the back of the line....not being held in pit lane.
I just wondered, the stop and go official asked him if he knew what he'd done. Shipway must have been there voluntarily or he's 12 and was serving a time out.
The 88 and 8 got together (sorry I didn't mean to hurt anyone's feelings 😉 ) in turn one. The 88 was immediately black flagged and then he pulled into the pits on the caution. They held him on the out pit until the white flag lap on the restart. I can only assume they did that to make sure he started behind the 8 on the restart.
A note on the MRA Invitational. I'm kinda glad that they reversed the order and ran them last. Gave my ears a chance to stop ringing so I could hear the cop at the ride program on Gideon Drive LOL! Seriously though it was a great modified race IMO. They should do more of this format. Maybe turn the series into a three track tour as they really need the car count to make the races interesting. The visiters to Delaware need more track time here in order to get better but having a full field of cars is what this series needs. The 8 was the only visiter that had anything for the Delaware regulars but that would change in time. Don't know if anyone would ever have anything for Cox but that is another thread. How do the Delaware Mods do at Varney and Mosport? It was also good to see that there wasn't an exodus of fans after the ISMA race and they stayed around to watch the MRA race. It ended up being a two car show but the rest of the field had lots of good racing also.
