Yetti hit it on the head!!!  Do the math, and count all the trips to canadian tire, home depot, brafasco, etc, etc.....You CAN NOT build a top 3 or 4 thundercar from scratch or anywhere near it for under 20,000.00

The only way to do it is buy a championship type car for 10 or 12 grand, that way your fast and getting the good payouts.  Nobody thinks thats a good deal, but your kicking the guy in the nuts buy giving him that much, it cost twice that.

If you get .50 cents on the dollar for what you sell in this game, youve done ok.

I sold mine 2 years ago for $4,000 with all spares, and I was jumping for joy.

But hey, if you have money to spend, its alot of fun...just I dont, lol

Ya a more affordable power plant, but in order to get the weight low enough you are buying a brand new $50,000 mccoll pro/limited late that weighs 2625lbs. What's cheaper a $12000 Asa motor that you already have with your current chassis, or a brand new straight rail late model with a $3500 602 crate motor?

Sorry shadow... You spend. 12grand. On an asa motor. Or go take that crate and send it to Mr leitch and have it rebuilt.... Oh no he wouldn't dare open a crate motor would he? Get real its not cheaper. Why does he charge 5500 to 'go through' a Motor. That's a lot of money to spend on having rockers and valve springs checked over.

Thanks for all the responses.  It has been a real eye opener.  I just sold all my microsprint stuff, and was hoping to get into something at delaware, but looks like streetstock has become not alot cheaper then LM.  I was considering trucks, but I am worried the class might not last based on counts at the end of the year.  I have some thinking to do.  JWO, I will likely give you a shout to discuss more.
Thanks again.

Can Kev....edumacate me. You're saying that the guys with asa crates sell their stuff and go with a stock motor need to buy a whole new racecar to go with it? I admit I may be wrong if that's the case...but is that really the case?

Maybe to circumvent the whole "tampered crate" issue....it may be time to re visit a claim rule.
