I don't know about ROC mods, but in perusing the Whelen Mod stats, it only looks like there's about 20 of them that do the full tour no matter where they race. There were a couple that didn't make the trip, but we had most of the points field.
Actually 19 mods at Oswego. One more than we had.
Not that it really matters that much, but 21 Modifieds started the 200 at Oswego on Saturday. The 2 extras were just start and park cars, since the field wasn't full: http://www.oswegospeedway.com/ResultsPoints/AMBScoring/tabid/78/Default.aspx
the SST mods mentioned previously are actually "Sportsman Mods". They now run the same chassis as a tour mod or roc mod but narrower tires, wet sumps and two bbl carbs. Home division for Dunn Tire Raceway, Wyoming County, Holland, Chemung and Spencer for example.
Jim Mazchak of Wyoming Cty had a pretty good tour going between the tracks until the various promoters cut deals with different tire companies which really doomed the SST series. As an aside, the Bud 100 at Holland this year for their Pro-Mods as they call them (used to be a lm race but I digress) but was reduced to a 50 lap no name feature when they realized the Goodyears mandated at the track wouldn't last 100 laps.
Although the SST's haven't run in Canada, we do have a couple Canadian racers running in NY - J. Ruddy from Caledonia and Sherri Hogan from Belwood, Ontario. If Cayuga ever opens again, maybe a good paying SST race with an open tire might be an idea, as a support class anyways
