It was the most piss poor advertising of any event, I've ever seen.
Nobody knew what type of modified was even running. Back then I believe they were called the SST modifieds, which is now the ROC series. Maybe next year Delaware can work on the dates and not go against the Oswego Classic 200 on labour day. You might be able to pull in a few more cars from NYstate. They had 22-24 cars for the 200. Overall it was a good show, Delaware owners - Please,please,please consider repaving the track, Every sanction that runs here says the same thing, how rough and bumpy it is. You must be getting tired of that. If you truly want to excel and have the best classes come here to run and brag about it, fresh asphalt is the way to go. I don't mind paying the 40 bucks to see good racing but the track needs some love. just my 2 cents
Actually 19 mods at Oswego. One more than we had. You can rest assured if they come back next year it wont be on labour day weekend. Im sure they (delaware) are aware of the couple scheduling issues they had this year and will fix them for next season. ie the great canadian 200.
Dont hold your breath on the pavement issue bud. if they would just widen the sidewalk to twenty feet or so in the corners i think that would help a lot. A complete reno isnt required and not going to happen IMO.
10 more feet of side walk would make great 2 lane racing
yeah...but wouldn't you end up with a cliff at the end of that extra 20 feet? 😉
Posters wondering if they (Nascar modifieds ) will return next year by sounds of Jim Cressmans article in todays LFP watch for them back & yes if so they will make it fit in schelude so more cars will make it as yes the ROC show had 19 as posted & would say if even half of those made it would make approx 25-27 cars .If I was a betting man I would say yes they will be back as Nascar does not just come over here once with their series cars ( modifieds) for the fun of it.They like what they saw & yes would say they will be back as for when they will figure that out so it is good for them & yes Delaware .Congrats Delaware on a great weekend & thanks NASCAR for coming over & hope to see your series again & odds are pretty good .
