Just a few cellphone shots from the day.
Gotta say I really enjoyed what the NASCAR modifieds brought to the track. Good racing to watch, and I believe they were even louder than even the Supermodifieds were....which is saying something. 🙂
Felt a little bad for the guy in the yellow 4 car. He was having a good solid run up until the competition yellow, then after that he just couldn't seem to get anything right.
Anyway, great show and a great crowd on hand. This event could get really big if they stay the course with these guys. Hope the word gets around that it was ok running up here.
Also wanted to say congrats to Jay Doerr on winning the Lucas Cup race on Sat night. Sorry I wasn't able to be there, but it must have been ok after such a crummy night on Friday.
Good show by the MRA Modified guys on Sat nite too. Heard there was like 18 cars there so a good turnout on that one.
The field rounding turn 1

And down the frontchute
There's DJ.
Couple more turn 1 shots

And a kid named Colton, demonstrating that the only thing cooler than getting a Hoppy the Clown balloon monkey, is getting his Hoppy the Clown balloon monkey autographed by DJ Kennington!
Nice cell shots!
I wish I could have been there yesterday. Does anyone remember the time ROC came to Cayuga about 10 years ago? It was not strongly attended unfortunately even though it was a beautiful Sunday afternoon. They were awesome! I don't think ROC has been in Canada again since then.

It was a two day show...AVSS Sprint Cars and ISMA Supermodifieds on Saturday, and ROC Mods on Sunday. I was there both days...I believe it was billed as the Crown Jewel Classic. Great show that didn't draw flies.
Thanks Shadowracer...... we had a fast car on Saturday night.
Also hats off to the Delaware staff for a great weekend of racing. The mod show on Sunday was an entertaining race to watch. Great job drying the track so we could see the race end under green. Thanks guys!!!!
thanks shadowracer
Dster and Tommy -
As for the ROC at Cayuga, i believe i counted about 150 people in the
stands (or maybe 125 - my memory is a bit hazy on it). I do remember
there was no (or almost no) other photographers shooting in victory lane - i wasnt
even going to shoot that at the time (still shooting film on a limited
budget), but when no one was there, i ran over. It was a good race...
