Darrell was pretty worn out after the 50. Might even have him thinking about p/s for next year more. Didn't help that the car was off making it more of a handfull to drive. Hopefully we get it sorted out for this friday night. I think 50 laps is ok but no more then that. Tires and brakes took a kicking.
Its about time MATT.
LOL
As one of the drivers, I agree that 50 laps straight was very tough on both the cars and the drivers. Like my dad said, by the time I was able to get out of the car, I was exhausted. 40 Laps straight would have been the perfect amount, where it gives drivers time to come from the back, without wearing themselves or the cars out too much. Or as was stated before, 25 with a small break to let the cars cool, mostly the brakes and tires. By all means, I loved the 50 lapper, it was a lot of fun, just very equipment unfriendly.
I think Jake would agree with you Darrell. We killed a power steering pump and he said the break pedal was getting pretty low by the 40th lap. His foot is ok but it was almost ready to eat!!! From a car owner point of view twin 25's or a 40 would be cool.
wow, are your cars that much different from ours?
I did 3 50 lap races last year....new right sides and lots of gs....we never had an issue, still have the same rotors on the car this year....you get a bit worn out, but it wasn't like Saturday was that hot....we had a really hot 50 lapper last year and it was a bit rough...
personally i love 50's....
I think there would be a difference between 50 at Barrie and 50 at Delaware as far as speeds and breaking Thayne but I'll leave it to the drivers to fill in the blanks. The one big difference is 50 at Delaware is 25 miles. 50 at Barrie is 15 or 16 miles.
