Didn't they at one time have a 100 lapper way back when?? Guess tire changes would be a must if that happens. I can say, I would love to see that happen with SS's.
The ss cars are not meant to run long races, the brakes and such just don't take well to it. If you want to run long races enduro is the way to go. The enduro 250's were like racing past Toronto if you left from London (maybe futher since you run the high groove a lot). I'm not saying it wouldn't be fun have an ss race that lasted 100 laps, I just don't think its worth the punishment 100 laps would deliver to the cars.
My vote, 50 laps too much.
The fifty laps from the hill was a good show.
Question. Is it that 50 laps are too much for the SS cars or is it that the SS cars get driven in a 50 lap race like it is a 25 lap feature for 50 laps? I saw some pretty red rotors after 20 laps.
I think 50 is a good number, The drivers do need to conserve the car for the end of the race, don't have the breaks glowing by lap 20. As far as tire, we put 100 laps on a set Saturday and will run the same tire a few more nights

I'm pretty sure Super Stock/Street Stock have never done a 100 lapper ever. 50's a few times but never 100.
IMO more laps doesn't equal a better race. Some divisions shine best when its just 20-25 laps and SS is one of them. I'd sooner see em do 25 laps, invert the field, then do another 25.
