Crock of Snot!!! The Shock thing never should of happened in the first place. That was total BS and there were about 4 teams including ours who didn't want them. In the past enough said about that. I agree with ne shocks and totally back it up. I don't agree with the electric fan, it was a big hassle saviour for us...I would have liked a meeting to discuss the rule changes. What we discussed at that waiste of time meeting was not even remotely close to what was changed except the body change. I know raising the ride hieght is to take away from NOVAS and CAMAROS, This is supposedly going to slow us down and let the METRICS catch up, which I don't think will happen anyway. My car was registered for 2009, 2010, and we never had any exceptions for us. we attended every race. I'm not a pissed over this as I should be but why is it the guys who work on their program are penilized?
Isn't racing *FUN* ? 😀 ? 😀
Nobody wins with constant rule changes. What a lot of tracks do is allow a grandfather clause for a certain time frame, usually half a season or one full year. With this announced shock rule change, that would be a real bummer as DB71 has pointed out.
Sheridan is a racer and I sure hope he's reflecting on his own experience and then recognizing the impacts this type of thing does to any class.
Anytime a "poll" or vote is taken regarding racing, it's always a debate - is this a democracy or it simply "input". In case somebody just recently fell off the proverbial turnip truck, I don't know many promoters that take votes and then implement it as desired to everyone's satisfaction - even if a majority of opinion is reached. Don't get me wrong, many promoters do have multiple discussions with car owners and try to take into account what's best for everyone. As we see here, it's not always going to happen.
But like anything, if there's enough yelling and screaming about the issue, it often gets resolved, in some cases amicably *koff*....
That's one reason why rules should be set in place for 'x' years and any changes must allow a grandfather rule and any major changes "planned" should be announced one season BEFORE they come into effect.
I doubt the teams that changed their shocks last year threw there old ones in the garbage. Their old ones are still legal so just bolt them back on. Whats the problem?
Sheridan is in a tough spot because they have to cut costs and slow down the cars in all divisions because of previous rule changes that got made that shouldn't have gone through.
That depends on how many they had, etc, etc. etc. Shocks do wear out depending on the brand, some faster than others. Top dollar teams may be changing them every 10 races or so.

Those shocks only last about 5-7 nights Jeff.........And what the heck fans were you running Jim to have blades fly off and heating problems? Electric fans haven't been part of that class for very long, back when everyone was mechanical I don't remember people having heating issues or blades flying off.......We ran 195 all night long with the flex-a-lite plastic fan.
