It's a bit of a shame more of the KD Late Models don't show up, although I think the ACT style Late is a bit slower then the Delaware cars..... Theres still some KD cars I think could have good showings.

maybe we will be surprised on who will show up...never know.

I would think the 55 of Rankin would be there....now in saying that Jackson has campaigned the car at Kawartha the past few weeks...and Jackson has attended the 300 in the past....so I suppose theres a chance you may see Jackson there racing the 55 or Rankin himself running it.

I remember talking to someone who ran the first or second APC 300 in an ACT style car and he said it was like bringing a knife to a gunfight.

Rivals race for championship on final weekend

Ron Sheridan leads Steve Robblee by just three points heading into Sunday's Total APC 300 Great Canadian Race at Delaware Speedway
By JIM CRESSMAN

Ron Sheridan is familiar with playing the role of the hunter going into the final weekend at Delaware Speedway.

Last year, which was the Mt. Brydges resident's best season since he began racing a late model in 1998, it was seven-time track champion Steve Robblee of Dorchester who he had in his sights.

And that's just where Robblee remained as Sheridan was denied his first championship when Robblee captured his eighth.

This year, it's reversed. Sheridan is the hunted, but right there in his rear view mirror comes the hunter -- and it's Robblee.

"We're going to come as loaded as we can," Sheridan said yesterday as racers were preparing for the annual Great Canadian Race Weekend that takes the green flag tomorrow night.

Sheridan takes a three-point lead into Sunday's Total APC 300 Great Canadian Race. It involves twin 25-lap features for the Delaware late models to determine the championship, then a 25-lap invader open, a 25-lap consolation, and capped by the main 200 lapper with $10,000 to win.

If there was any consolation for Sheridan last year, it was that he won the 10 grand.

"We got all our racing bills paid off and it's certainly a nice touch at the end of the year," he said.

But there's still that elusive Delaware championship.
