Actually there is quite a bit going on on the Saturday. The weekend has been switched around since they released the sched. Maybe someone can update that.
There's something else happening on the Saturday thats not on the schedule. Dam if I can rememeber what it is though.
As far as ISMA goes, my observation is that its largely two different crowds. Most dyed-in-the-wool Supermodified fans wouldn't be coming to the APC 300 anyway. Plus it doesn't hurt that the ISMA show will come rolling around here 3 weeks later. Folks in the London area that want to be able to see both will be able to without having to go to Cayuga.
Scratch that...they did update it.
Fri. August 29 Super Stock, Enduro All-star, King of the Hill Nationals, Chaos Car Exhibition
Sat. August 30 Open-Wheel Mod Challenge, Trucks, Cup Lites, Late Model Open Practice
Sun. August 31 APC 300 - Late Model Qualifying & Features
Looks pretty full to me.
Shadowracer let me clairify when I said racing I meant stock car racing and here
are the reasons
Friday August 29 -Street stocks -Stock car racing yes
Enduro All Star race-Stock car racing yes
King of the Hill Nationals-Stock car racing -No
Chaos Car Exhibition-Unknown as this is a new group this year,& nobody knows how this group will work (car count-unknown )
Saturday Aug 30th-Open Wheel Modified Challenge-Stock car racing -yes
Trucks-Stock car racing yes
Cup Lites-stock car racing yes but last year they raced at Delaware and the car count was low under 12.There was no report on their race at Delaware by either the track or their own web site.Nothing was ever put on their results page but all their other races they did show results.Hopefully they come with a bigger field this year.
Late Model open practice for APC300 good idea but how many cars will take advantage of this .I can see Delaware cars take advantage as for out of town cars probably not as most of the out of town cars will be racing Saturday night (Flamboro )
Sunday Aug 31 APC 300 Qualifying & race yes this is the big one for Late Models
car count should be good again this year.
Is their any reason why the track could not have longer races each night(SS-make 50 lap feature) Open Wheel Modified Challenge special race yes but on the same card make the truck feature 50 lap feature also.If the SS & trucks are to be 50 laps races I apoligise but on the Delaware schelude they show nothing like that. That is just a suggestion
Your remarks about ISMA fans being two different crowds yes but there are a lot of Delaware regulars that are both and they largely like the Supers and follow them.I know some race fans that have plans to catch the Supers at Cayuga,Delaware & Berlin.Hopefully this will not effect the crowds but I can see where there is a good possibilty it might happen. These are just my opinions but overall I think this weekend comes up short as I have seen better for a stock car racing weekend
