Crate motor sounds like a winner to me. If we get lucky it may catch on at other trucks if it happens. As for being smaller divisions being forced out, I can't see it happening, based on sheer numbers. There are too many cars and drivers for thse divivsions to suffer.

So it would be something like a Pro Challenge, but a truck instead then? That would be kind of cool.

In the big scheme of things, it's not really cool at all. Those style of trucks are like the Pro Challenge cars in that they're not compatable with anything else. The closest thing compatable with that style of truck would either be in Quebec or the west side of Michigan, much too far to bring guys over. In starting a new class, you'd basically be forcing everyone to buy brand new equipment as used stuff would be too far away to be practical to purchase. If you want to make a class like that grow, why wouldn't they use some variation of the Delaware rules? There's plenty of those trucks around the area that it wouldn't cost as much to get involved. Furthermore, plenty of guys could even move from Delaware to GBS or even do both tracks if they wanted. If you've got two tracks offering nearly the same thing an hour away, why not work together to use the same thing to the advantage of both tracks? At least that way you could get some inter-track action going on and draw attention to both places. Instead you've got trucks that if the class fails, you're basically stuck with them (like CASCAR and F4 mods and Pro Challenge cars and so on and so forth.)

PS: Who was the genius who decided that the Pro Challenge cars should NOT be compatable with the Cup Lites cars? That has to be one of the dumbest decisions made in the area...

Funny, car counts seem to be up in a lot of places and the racing's been better than ever. And as far as disgruntled Delaware guys go, Flamboro's been an option for years.

Who's killing racing? No one.

If a new track wants to dream up its own divisions, thats for them to decide. No one owes anything to the "big picture" The tracks that can grow and nurture their own racing community will thrive even when incompatible with other tracks. Those that can't and have to live on the scraps of other tracks won't.

I wish Grand Bend good luck and all the best, but I don't think they're gonna cramp Delaware's style in the least.

ANd actually, and maybe I'm being naive here, but the fact that GB isn't poaching Del's divisions is a good faith move in my book.

I don't see anything wrong here. I just hope GB can make a go out of full size cars, cuz quarter mile is fun to watch.

BTW, Merry Christmas to everyone. I haven't been on for a little while. Have a safe holiday...arrive alive...don't drink and drive..all that stuff.

Cheers.
