I don't think he was shunned by the other drivers, but the track disrespected him by letting the 5 car go unpunished. If I were him, I wouldn't come back either.
If he feels like he was then I dont care what ppl say, a welcoming effort was not made....
I don't get the idea that it was just about the 5 car. That was just the straw that broke the camel's back if I'm reading correctly.
As far as not being welcomed...I don't know. One thing I've heard from visiting drivers is that they are usually made to feel quite welcome at Delaware, by management at least. Maybe it changes if they come back enough to be considered regulars.
As far as the LM drivers themselves, most of them are quite friendly with me. But I'm not close enough to know how clique-ish they are with each other either.

greetngs from the dunes..
i was told that the 7 (pistol pete) did the same thing to the 00 car on july 7th and was parked!
maybe it is time for an assistant up top to run the races, one without bias?? must be a touhg job to promote, yet run an unbiased event..
lets hope the big weekend goes off without incident...
I have a couple comments on this. Firstly the 10x was not defending a position when the original incident occured, he was behind the 5 and over drove the entry into one and ended up dumping the 5, intentional or not only he knows. Then the retaliation by the 5 occured on the front chute under caution, yes the 5 made contact with the 10X but this contact did not result in the 10X spinning like the Pete / Ruetabega deal. Im not condoning this action just clearing up the actual result of the contact. I was told after the race that the spotter of the 10x was told to get it down pit road and the tire changed or the body pulled off it atleast because it was going to blow. This was felt to be justice for the no black for dumping the 5. The 5 had already taken it to pit road to have the rear bumper removed after the original contact with the 10x in turn one thus sending him to the rear, again perceived as justice for the no black after the contact under the yellow.
Again I want to make it clear that I dont agree with the action taken by the 5 car, but sometimes frustration takes over and people do things they shouldnt or normally wouldnt. The 5 team has also had a rough go of it this year and that was evident friday night. I will say that I know forsure the intention was not to end the 10x season and its unfortunate if that is the case.
As far as the local boys not welcoming the 10x team, I find that hard to believe. Sometimes its a two way street, Im sure if they needed any help in anyway and asked for it many guys out there would be willing to lend a helping hand or loan a part or whatever was neccesary. As far as on the track, were talkin bout one of the most competitive fields this province has to offer and when they put the bucket on theres no friends out there which has been quite obvious this year.
I sure hope the 10x team will reconsider or find a way to get back out to DS, I know they will be missed.
