I have to agree with Shadow....I am another Delaware fan and there are a lot of us, that truly enjoyed seeing the 10Xcar run every week. You will definitely be missed. I don't think the 21car backed into you intentionally, but I was there that night and could not understand that move either. The 5 car was different. He should have been parked for the night! Intentional wrecking and under the caution should have penalized. I looked up at he Race Director, but I guess he didnt see it. Strange, the 5 is another one of the few that does not run a McColl car either. I will support Delaware to the end, but I'm at a loss that nobody "seems" to care about the loss of cars. I say "seems", because I'm not privy to day to day activities.
I know it must be difficult to keep fixing cars all the time. I hope you change your mind, because you will be missed at the track. You are good competitor and it takes awhile to learn Delaware, but I could see you getting better every week.
Interesting, that last week when we lost a modified car (88) for the year, their complaint was too many black flags.
10x is a big lost to the LM field at Delaware. As has been pointed out mid-pack to the back has it's problems. If they were to settledown if...... they are thinking points, consistancy in finishing races is what gets them, plus potential for better starting positions next week.
Is a big repair bill worth 1 or 2 points when settling in takes home more ???
You have to wonder what is going on here. I don't have any insight as to what Truthsayer has indicated as far as not being made to feel welcome but I agree that losing the 10x is a blow to the LM field and perception is sometimes reality. If they feel like they have been wronged and have had discussions with track management and other teams without feeling like they have an adequate explanation then they have to do what they feel is best. If on the other hand they are assuming facts not in evidence and acting only on their perception then I don't know what to say. I can't believe that guys like Robblee and Sheridan etc wouldn't be helpful to an out of town team that makes the effort to come and race every Friday and work to make them feel welcome but I could be wrong. Regardless good luck to the 10x wherever you end up racing and maybe a little time away will help you want to come back to Delaware.
Shepperds are a class act and true racers at heart. If what truth sayer said is true, that's pittiful! A nicer bunch of guys you will not meet. Gord is a phenominal talent behind the wheel, and a great addition to any field of late models. I guess him not being a london area driver, and not driving a cookie cutter mccoll chassis didn't aford him the luxury of being accepted into the delaware fraternity. Delawares loss I guess!
The Delaware fraternity meets at McColls every Tuesday night (that way pesky out-of-towners can't come), that's what i've heard anyways, since I don't have one of those "cookie cutters", i'm not allowed in the fraternity 😉
i heard about those meetings. they dress up in woman's underwear and sing koombyah. ;D ;D that is the real reason they don't want out of towners at those meetings. 😉 Seriously, i love the place. always have. i just think it sucks that a guy would make the effort to come there every friday to race and get shunned.
