The Lussier-Seaway Sportsman Series back in action this weekend at Autodrome Granby and Drummond!
Cornwall, Ontario – Wednesday, July 8, 2015 – Martin Bélanger, Series Coordinator – With nearly two months off, The Lussier-Seaway Series will regain action this weekend with visits at Autodrome Granby on Friday and making a stop at Autodrome Drummond on the following night!
In 2014, Mathieu Desjardins had swept the weekend in Quebec still being undefeated in this Series on his local track. Being absent of the first round at Brockville in May because of a major accident the night before will need a similar performance this weekend to keep his chances alive for a third title in a row.
Local Brockville runner, Steve Barber collected the win over Louie Jackson and Shane Pecore. A fine field of 39 cars had showed up being a nice preview for things to come for the series in 2015!
Averaging more than 25 regulars on a weekly basis at both track and add invaders such as Louie Jackson, Shane Pecore, Joey Ladouceur, Adam Rozon, Brianna Ladouceur, Gilles Godard, Scott Morris, Tyler Givogue, Wyatt Mullin et others, we could easily match the number of cars at the inaugural race in May.
Along with Desjardins, Martin Pelletier, Alex Lajoie, Mathieu Laramée and Kaven Poliquin will be to watch having completed the initial round with a top 10 finish. You can add resident runners Jonathan Désilets, Dany Gagné, Guy Ouellet, Martin Hébert and many others that will be looking for a good showing over the 2-night of racing.
The $2,700 points fund will be divided into the top 10 drivers after all 6 events with the champion receiving $1,000 to win all the way down to $100 to the 10th place finisher. The perfect attendance bonus program will be back with nearly $5,000 in prizes including a crate engine from Lussier Chevrolet and Seaway GM, a barrel of VP Fuels and 2 Hoosier tires.
Do not miss one of the best series in Eastern Ontario, Quebec and Northern United-States it will make visits to Autodrome Granby and Drummond a sure stop on your calendar over the weekend!
