Mathieu Desjarins win the Bandit Motorsports Sportsman Challenge at Cornwall Motor Speedway!

Cornwall, Ont – Sunday, July 5, 2015 – Martin Bélanger – A big night of racing at Cornwall Motor Speedway with the presentation of the Bandit Motorsport Sportsman Challenge with a 50-lap feature, also the Danny Lefebvre Memorial 25 with a 25-lap event for Mini-Stock and a complete program on a night sponsored by Twin Leaf Stores.

In the 50-lap Bandit Motorsports Sportsman Challenge, Mathieu Desjardins leads the way over Tyler Givogue and Ryan Stabler. Desjardins reaches slower cars by lap 15 and keeps his distance from the rest of the field. Desjardins is alone in front with Corey Wheeler now running in second using heavy traffic to his advantage with 23 laps completed. At the halfway point, Desjardins had a comfortable lead over Wheeler, Tyler Givogue, Martin Pelletier and Ryan Stabler completes the top 5. The feature had picked up a good rhythm when the yellow comes out on lap 35 for Moise Pagé. Desjardins in front on a lap 36 restart as Martin Pelletier got to third. Desjardins and Wheeler were running side by side as Wheeler got out of the speedway and yellow is out on lap 45. Mathieu Desjardins led the final laps to win the event over Pelletier and Justin Lalancette who completes the podium.

Lance Willix led the way in Bandit Motorsports Modified feature race but he had issues with is right rear wheel and Kyle Dingwall took the lead on lap 8. Bill Mullin brought the caution on lap 9 has Willix pulled to the pits. On the restart, Lee Ladouceur was able to pass Kyle Dingwall. Carey Terrance made his way up to second. Terrance was able to make a move with 7 laps to go and passed Ladouceur. Terrance never looked back and won his first feature of 2015 over Ladouceur and Dingwall.

The 25-lap Danny Lefebvre Memorial for Mini-Stock saw Frederic Faubert leading all laps in this event as he resisted to several cautions to win over Riley McGonagle and Justin Desrosiers who came in third after a late charge.

In the Polar Sound DJ Services Semi-Pro 15-lap feature, Junior Delormier grabbed the lead as a good battle was going on behind him for second spot as Bradley Taillon brought caution on lap 3. Derek Cryderman was able to take the lead on the restart. While Cryderman was running in front, Adam Delormier had a nasty flip and red flag was out on lap 7. Cryderman kept the lead but at lap 10 he suffered issues with his car and headed to the pits giving the lead to Junior Delormier. He never looked back and captured his first feature of the season.

Rock Aubin led wire to wire in the 20-lap Alexandria Home Hardware Pro-Stock Feature as he won his first event of the season over CD Beauchamp and George Renaud.
