Probably just trying something new. Country music and stock car racing have been disconnected for quite some time now.

Also, country music fans have longer memories and aren't quite as fickle as fans of other music genres. That makes them a little easier to draw.

Even NASCAR has acts that are not all country. If they had some good bands maybe more people would show.

This weekend in Mississauga Waterfront Festival has some great acts Sam Robberts & Bruce Cockburn & 54-40 and for the kids The BackYardigans, Dora The Explorer & Harry and his Bucket Full of Dinosaurs.

If I wasn't going to sunset this Saturday I would be there.

There may be some time issues with getting 'good' acts.  Regardless of what you all think, you can't please everyone, especially when it comes to music.  That, and for every active poster on CRO, there are hundreds of fans that aren't aware of us.  At any rate, I'd much rather listen to a late booking country act than any grunge band!

My crystal ball stopped working a long time ago.....The weather will be the biggest factor for Cayuga for this event, not the music genre.

Country musics long disconnect from stock car racing ? where do you get this stuff from  ?

Kid Rock may have been been at Michigan but Country stars have over whelming been at most the races this year and every year since  Marty Robbins sang El Paso and Big Iron on the front stretch of Darlington in 1959 .

Country stars such as Trace Atkins , Montgomery Gentry , Megan Peeler , Jamey Johnson , Kenny Chesney , Jake Owen  etc etc have all played at NASCAR races THIS year . Denny Hamlin appeared on CMTs Cribs this year and there is no other form of music that has more of a connection to stock car racing or thier fans then country music . I like many forms of music but i am glad stock car racing has a country music connection rather then say the Hip Hop  ,  Gangsta Rap crap that is associated with sports like the NBA  . When i go to a country music concert i dont see people with their pants below their butt and i dont have to worry about being shanked or shot .
