Tight Racing Action Closes Out August and We Gear Up September
The month of August has come to an end and Brighton Speedway is gearing up
for an action packed September filled with the hottest line up of racing
from Late Models, to School Buses, 358 DIRT Modifieds and so much more.
Saturday night action was never ending as PartSource hosted a complete race
program including the Bainer's Radiators Canadian Modifieds, Brighton
Automotive Pro Stocks, Bill's Johns Comp 4's, the Quinte Towing Stingers and
the Hotch's AutoParts 30 Lap Endurance Race.
The Bill's John's Comp 4 division feature run started with 15 cars with #8
Zac McBride taking his second feature win this season ahead of points
leader #46 Warren Mowat. The Brighton Automotive Pro Stock race was full of
contention including the black flag to #72 Doug Anderson, a roll over by #12
Adam Whaley and the win coming for the second time to #8 Gary Vandertoorn
as he raced hard against #13 Dale Locke. The Quinte Towing Stingers saw a
first time winner of #33 Eldon McCracken over the start finish line followed
by #40 Mike Lammle and #78 Shelby Mills. In the Bainer's Radiator Division
visiting car #33 Ryan Scott from Kingston pushed the #9 Mat Vanderlinden and
points leader #11 Dan Ferguson to put on some the best racing of the night.
The back and forth of these cars set the fans on the edge of their seats as
the race ended at 30 laps for the final RONA Trenton Triple Crown Event.
A last minute addition to the race card included a Late Model Topless Dash
for Cash with 6 participants pulling for position in a 10 lap shoot out to
the line. #29 Phil Potts kept the lead but #87 Andrew Hennessy charged from
his last place starting position to take on second place. The night closed
with the 30 Lap Hotch's AutoParts Endurance races with 18 cars in
competition for the $300.00 pay out. At the checkered it was #4 Blair
Turcotte in the lead followed by #12K Kyle Sopaz and 1X Kevin Gregory.
To kick off the month of September the Labour Day Classic Two Day
Extravaganza is scheduled to thrill the masses and entertain the Sprint Car
fans at Brighton Speedway. This weekend has grown in increasing popularity
for Speedway fans and is a much anticipated event. With two days of racing
compounded with great camaraderie and revelry on Sunday, Brighton Speedway
is the place to be to start the month of September. The action is nonstop
beginning Saturday night at 7:00 pm with the Southern Ontario Sprint Cars,
Canadian Modifieds, Pro Stocks, Comp 4's, Stingers, Gord's Water Vantastics,
and the Canadian Modified Mechanics Race.
On Sunday afternoon the party starts at 12:00 pm with the Good Times Lawn
Tractor Pullers once again. By 1:00 pm drivers will have arrived to set up
their cars for an afternoon show and shine and to enjoy the delicious Pig
Roast in support of the Driver's Points Fund. This newest addition to the
afternoon festivities will fill your belly and provide an opportunity for
our drivers to mingle with their fans.
The evening of racing begins at 6:00 pm as we salute our first ever Topless
Night on the Oval! The Southern Ontario Sprints will show off their
wingless bodies in a Dash for Cash presented by Riverside Bar & Grill but
only after they crown the 2011 SOS Champion. Humber Nurseries presents the
Pro Late Model Topless race as the home track points battle continues to
heat up. The Comp 4 30 Lap Invitational and the Pro Stock 50 Lap
Invitational and home track Duel in the Dirt race will please the dirt track
fans. An added bonus to the weekend of racing is the Legends Cars presented
by Cooney Excavating. Mystical Distributing has once again provided
fireworks for additional entertainment as the night goes on. This weekend
of racing is all brought to you by Rock 107, Custom Carts, Mystical
