Super Late Models Return This Weekend
David Scott takes a slim lead into this Saturday’s Ontario Dirt Late Models final points event of the season at Brighton Speedway. Scott from Garland Pennsylvania will take a narrow 5 point lead into the $2,000.00 to win event over 2008 and 2009 ODLM Champion #22 Greg Oakes from Franklinville New York. Scott has already scored two victories this season however Oakes has had consistent top 5 finishes all season long keeping him in the hunt. 2V Chad Valone of Warren, Pennsylvania, Canadian Late Model legend #38 Kirk Hooker from Chatham, Ontario and #88 Andrew Reaume from Blenheim, Ontario round out the top 5 in points for this very competitive series.
Many of Brighton Speedway’s Regulars in the DIRTcar Pro Late Model Division will be on hand to compete against the visiting Super Late Models. Although handicapped by much less horsepower, the likes of Andrew Hennessy, Charlie Sandercock, Phil Potts and more are hoping their home track knowledge and experience on the tight bull ring of Brighton Speedway will lead to some good finishes for the home town crowd. In total close to 30 Late Models are expected to fill the pit area and compete this Saturday night!
The excitement continues Saturday, August 21st as Hotch’s Autoparts presents the Ontario Dirt Late Model series. Featuring full sized Super Late Models with 700 plus horsepower take on the 1/3rd mile clay oval. The Bainer’s Radiators Canadian Modifieds, Brighton Automotive Pro Stocks, the Bill’s John Comp 4 division in their last race of the McDougall Insurance Triple Crown event and a Canadian Modified Mechanics Race plus a 20 Lap Endurance Race will round out the evening. Gates open at 5:30 pm and racing begins at 7:00 pm. Admission is $18.00 for Adults, $14.00 for Youths and Seniors, $4.00 for children 7 to 12 and $42.00 for a Family Pass.
