Just when you thought the Bainer's Radiator Canadian Modifieds drivers already had everything to look forward to going into this weekend’s Danny Reid Memorial 50 lap race, it’s going to get better thanks to John's Equipment from Frankford! Not only do Canadian Modified drivers get to compete in this special race named after track legend the Danny Reid, they will race 50 laps for the legendary giant Sliver Piston trophy, double points and now they will race for even more money. What was already an increased purse for Saturday night has now been topped up even more by the generous sponsorship of John and Debbie Kemp and their long standing business in Frankford, John's Equipment! The race will now pay a whopping $750.00 to win, $500 for second, $350.00 for third and continues to be increased all the way back through out the field so all the drivers will get a piece of their generosity.
Joining the Modifieds on Saturday for extra laps, extra money and double points will be the Vanderlaan Building Products 50 Lap Super Feature, the Brighton Automotive Pro Stock 30 Lap Super Feature, and the Bill's Johns Comp 4 Super Feature. The action will be fast and furious as the drivers battle it out on double point’s night in search of their championships. Saturday night is one of the most exciting and anticipated nights of the year as the mighty 358 DIRTCar Modifieds return in the $2,000.00 to win Benson Auto parts Applefest Shootout! Joining the 358's will be the Mod Lites, The Pro Stock Duel in the Dirt with Merrittville for $1000.00 to win plus the rescheduling of July's Summer Scorcher event featuring a $1,600.00 to win Pro Late Model race and the $1,000 to Canadian Modified/IMCA Challenge. Saturday Night will also host the rescheduled Lucas Oil Clash for Cash from 2009 that fell victim to Mother Nature. Closing out the 2010 season will be the first ever Eve of Destruction on October 2nd. Brighton Speedway is in the mood for wrecking stuff and on the card for this inaugural event fans will witness just that. Whether it be the crashing and banging in one of the three endurance races, the crazy action of the flag pole and trailer race, the crash'em smash'em Gauntlet, the thrill of the car long jump contest or just the all out demolishing of cars in the demo derby there is nothing like it around as we strive to end up with nothing but a pile of scrap metal at the end of the night.
