Unfortunatly, barrie doesnt get many late models because its still too small and nobody likes tearing up their stuff. why do you think all the specials used to be 99% barrie cars( i know i showed up...... once). the only reason cascars show up is because gord put in a pit road. Costs are out of hand in all classes and challengers could at least bridge the gap. even 4 cyl guys could relate , i mean how the hell is somebody 15 miles an hour faster on the straightaway? money buys speed how fast do you want to go! the top 5 thunders and 4's spend big bucks to go fast but the average guy cant compete, you can only do so much chassis work. the 4 cyls need better rules, thats a topic all to itself( start a thread on 4 bangers, quit venting here) but the money thunders could go up and spend whatever they want and let the 15 other guys race fairly. theres an idea make the challengers run truck bodies or old bodies or modified bodies or no body or whatever and put them on the thunder recaps
if they ran truck bodies at least they would be different in appearance! maybe that would fly! but the thing is getting a wack of these out at the track! theres no sense in starting a division with a hand full of competitors!
You have to start at some point. Pure Stocks took a bit to take off.
very true i would have to say! but maybe we should take a year to straighten out the politics at the track before we introduce another division! let's see more tech officials and a race director and some other things first! we have to get the divisions we have now much better before adding another class that may add to the complication of making things better as a complete racing facility!
