I am shocked you guys are complaining. I heard Sunset paid out $700 to their Late Model Champion, compared to the over $5,000 Gord Sheppard got at Barrie. And you complain about Barrie?? And whats wrong with being a Barrie Supporter? All of you guys should be Barrie Supporters and every other track supporters! Without them, we wouldn't be able to come and see you guys race every week! Thank god the tracks are still here ... there's no way you'd ever get a permit and the zoning to build a new one anywhere. Let's hope they all stick around so we all have a place to go and enjoy the sport!
So this is what I posted on November 2nd.
This was the response that I got from Jim Payetta.
The cheque coming from NASCAR is made up of two amounts ... One for the Barrie Points fund (which we pay into based on how many races we had) and one from the series prize fund. The amount on the piece of paper in your envelop is those two amounts added together. NASCAR will send those out and they are in US Funds. The cheque from Barrie Speedway is the bonus amount. We added that bonus amount because the number of rainouts drastically reduced what was in the weekly points fund.
And Jim this is what you posted the same day.
ya, i just talked to jim ,and chris nailed it on the head. thanks guys, good luck next year........cheers jim
now things have changed?? And Yes I do support Barrie... I'm not trying to be an ass about this we are all welcome to our own opinion..
hey man, i love barrie speedway and have for 39 years. the BONUS cheque doesn't make sense. if it was a bonus , then why all the different amounts? wouldn't you spread it out evenly. starting with the guys/gals that never missed a night, to the ones that missed nights. that would make too much sense. so just to throw it out there for fun. chris, if barrie owes you money, i would assume that you wouldn't want yours?
Jim I would want my money, IF they owed it to me but in this case I don't think that they do. I do believe that Jim Payetta said that the bonus were to top up the payout from the tracks side of things. Every spot doesn't get the same payout at the end of the year do they? So why would the bonus be the same across the board. I got $340. from the track and Nascar plus $140 from the top up, so I managed to get $480, to me that's not bad for Fifth. I got nothing last year and only $310 my first year in the class for Ninth. What I got this year in my books is good enough for me. Jim if you think you got ripped off nothing I can do about that, I just don't see how one guy can come on here and make some statement about money collected from a sponsor and everyone thinks that it the truth maybe SpeedwayBob needs to get his facts straight. I got nothing bad to say about you Jimmy you are a good guy and one hell of a racer good luck at Sunset in the late model next year maybe we will see around... ;D
i have nothing against you either and i wish you well also. i'm just going to shut up and watch what transpires if anything!
