ya, i've heard the rumblings. whats going on there? i also recall after talking to a few guys that barrie was going to match our nascar $$$$$. we were told that at a drivers meeting one night??????for the thunders that is.

Are you guys kidding? Didn't you get past grade 2 math? Looking on Barrie's site, it looks like they pay out approx. $5300 or so every Sat. night for the late model class alone, based on 16 cars. So, with the 11 nights they got in this year, that's approx $58,300 they paid out. Plus, according to the poster of the payouts for the NASCAR Whelen Series, $10,000 USD was paid out to the Late Models at the banquet ($3,000 was just for first place, but 10 places got paid). So that's $68,300 (more because the $10,000 was in US dollars). Now on top of that add in the money from the local points fund and the bonus money you guys said they paid and you are up to around $80,000 or so, and that's just for the Late Model Class!! If they got $20,000 in class sponsorship like you say (now sure if that's an accurate number or not), that's not even close to what got paid out. Plus, there are costs associated with any sponsor (costs of signs, billboards, etc.).

It cost the owners too much money for payouts.  The owners are losing regular fans from the Hockey Games.  Wonder "WHY  Looks good on some of the owners
