I love Barrie, and always will as I grew up there,  but must admit has not been the same since this new ownership group.  Can't believe they continually make the same mistakes. It's almost like their using the speedway as their tax right off for other business ventures they have going.  Wish they would quit doing that and playing with other people's lives and make a decision if they are in it for the good of the speedway or not.  I hate being negative, and have given them the benefit of the doubt many times, but it's pretty well gone its course now with me.

I was very upset that such an early call was made to cancel the show. I can see cancelling the show that early if it was already pouring, the track was soaked and the weather said that there was no chance of letting up before race time. All I ask as a driver who looks forward to racing every week is to hold off on the call next time when it is not raining. If they do hold off and it does rain then so be it. The owners and management cannot control the weather if the weather actually comes and they have to call the show, but they can help calling the show before the weather even makes an appearance. But to stay positive maybe this is a mistake the track will use as a learning tool for next time.

All in all it gave me a chance to make the trip with my son and a good friend to watch some racing at the reconfigured Sunset Speedway. It's definately a nice facility. I just wish I was in a car racing on a Saturday night instead of in the stands watching. That's a pretty tough thing to do sometimes.

I dunno what all to say. But everyone is debating what track is better. I think yesterday proved what track is better for racing. One had its doors open to welcome racing one had it closed because a sprinkle of rain came down on the track.

Wide Open Motorsports Solutions (aka Mark Dilley's group), needs to buy Barrie. Leave the track as it is. Run it on friday nights. Standardize the rules. And run a touring series between the two tracks. You can either run for one track championship, both or the touring series. Its a no brainer. Marks already proved his self with Sunset, "build it and they will show up". Barries already built.

What do you think of that idea?
