yea, it really is terrible, especially for Joe, who put everything into the car...its just odd...the guy causing all the accidnts earlier has raced prevous years...i didnt see Joe's cause i was strapped in but i heard it and it was hard...he hit so hard that his floor is buckled...
Just wanted to say I took a good look at Joe's car after the wreck, and in my opinion I don't think the car was safe enough, and NOT that it's Joe's fault totally, but perhaps part of this could fall back on the track in my opinion, By the rule book he has the minimum amount of cage in his car so it passes tech,( No front or rear hoops for protection) I think at least a front hoop should be mandatory if not a rear one as well, His car may of sustained the impact if the front hoop had of been there, with the possability of less of an injury to Joe, Maybe no-ones to blame for it not being safe enough, but I think the track needs to update the rules for better protection...
i stiil dont know exatctily what happend but i do know he did nbot hit the clutch instead of the brake the skid marks up to the wall tell that storey iwas on the track and it happend behind me but when they red flaged the race i was sitting in turn three and joes skid marks started there and finished up where he hit just before turn 4. damn sad thing is he was just starting to get the handle on that 'stang. pehaps he was not wearing his seat belts tight enough?
yes i feel that front and rear hoops should be mandatory as well. If it wasn't for my front hoop and rear hoops i would have been hurt much worse and the car would have been a total write off.
kahen you said tia injury was by metal ,did it come thru the drivers door,is so are door plates not in the rules? all our classes from mini to slm must have them 1/16 " plate . good call on letting go of the wheel my lesson was a cast for awhile. how are the seats mounted to the cage or to the floor, and maybe the cars need to be slowed down a little?
