The only way you will see Herb there is watching from the grandstands.
Thats what I've heard!!! I don't blame him, when those guys aren't worried about points they have all winter long to fix any damage that is caused in this race...but Sunset cars still have one more points night one week later...what happens if it was serious damage?? They would be screwed...and Herb is so close to that championship why take the chance??
Sorry, but I don't want to take a chance of something happening
#3 Herb Walters (Sunset TC)------ It was been truly a year of dominance for Happy Herb and his #88 Matt's Rentals Camaro. Several feature wins at Sunset tied in with a 1st and 2nd in the two invitationals there, speaks volumes of how tough he can be to beat. Also finished 6th at Barrie earlier in the year when starting from the rear of the field, track familiarity should prove to be beneficial for this talented driver. Herbie has been leery to confirm for this event, but if Herb has any stones what so ever he should be in the field.LOL
#10 Rob Skyler (Sunset TC)---------- While I dont know much of this driver's resume personally, 2nd in the points behind Walters says alot of his driving talents. Not known for being much of a traveller in the past the Keswick native might find the purse too tempting to not give Barrie a try.
#16 Mark Adams (Sunset TC)------ another venerable veteran of the Thunder Car division, Mark has long been a top runner at Sunset, and is truly one of the cleanest drivers in he province. Not really a fan of the Barrie track, I'd say the chances of him showing for this one are slim at best.
Okay - Herb Walters has said he isn't coming so that'll really effect the outcome, but I can see where you stand Herb. Good luck with getting the championship! 🙂
Rob Skyler - could go in the same boat as Herb due to being second, but hopefully he runs. His resume is pretty good as he's always a contender for heat wins, has won a bunch this year, and is also won a feature (or two) this year. Lastly on topic of Skyler, hopefully he's out there after what happened last week during the 50-lapper at Sunset
Mark Adams - I didn't see his car last week at the invitational, so he may be in the same boat as Herb with the car and not wanting to lose points, or may just be done for the year.
It would've also been nice to se Tammy Milligan run, but that won't be happening as she's done for the year with motor issues 🙁
Any word on if Kristi is running?
Not a Barrie or Sunset car, but I have heard a rumor CCS point leader Greg Ogilvie might be making the trip. He has been a top runner at CCS for years, so if he does make the trip, it will be interesting to see how he does!
I have also heard the the 14 CCS car Rob Illingsworth will also be there with his car.
To any CCS cars good luck!
Any word on if Kristi is running?
Not gonna happen!
