Think about the 500 laps of fun season enders for Barrie Speedway, that is alot of cars and the grandstands are full all weekend long. Its been like that every year.

call their bluff get as many cars as you can then show up and see if they turn you away. if they do then their true colours will have shown. by the way are street stock invitationals have always been run what your track rules are. we found this kind of evened out the home track advantage.

Not last year.  I was there on the Sunday and I don't beleive there were more than 20 cars in any class and the place was nearly empty.

Think about this from the other side.  My understanding is that Glenn has made this decision at the request of his drivers.  The regular fans won't notice, because as noted in a previous post there was less than 200 people there.  So a decision is made that makes your drivers happy and your fans won't care about.  The only people who are angry are drivers who don't even drive at your track, and maybe a couple non-regular fans who will only come two Thursdays a year.  And as mentioned, the drivers that are angry come from a track that has few, if any, invitationals at their track.  But of course not many would look at it from that perspective.  Everyone thinks that this hurts the integrety of the track, etc.  But looking at the big picture, no one who cares is going to notice.

actually as i recall there was almost 40 4 cylinders at the barrie finale last year cause more then a dozen cars did not qualify for the "A" Main.only 26 cars were allowed to start the feature. As for the fans. Yeah i see your poin marcisfan, but it still looks bad that sunset wants to turn away other cars for an invitational. Whether it be the drivers or the management it is poor sportmanship on behalf of any track to do so.
