with fire the only exception who cares how long it takes. it sound like some figure just rip the driver out so we can get on with the show. it is what it is deal with the length of time because if it was your a** in the car you would want them to take as long as it takes to do it right.

good points people! i know i felt like i was in the car after my accident for only a few minutes. When really I was in for about 15 minutes. They wanted to cut the roof off and i said no. They take precautions for a reason! I am glad they do!

Steeve I wasn't suggesting we should not have the ambulance there... I was suggesting that the Fire Department have their rescue truck there in ADDITION to the Ambulance... We do need the Ambulance there... Those volunteer firefighters are trained in Auto Extrication and are also medical first responders. They also have some better equipment for fires... Not to say the Speedway crew does a bad job, they do a great job, but more hands makes the work easier...

My girlfriend keeps mentioning to me how she hates how slow the Ambulance reacts at Flamboro. If it's a obviously serious collision, they rush over lightning quick to the accident car/s. If it's a mild looking accident they just kinda slowly drive over, and slowly walk up to the car. They are the "experts", I'll assume they know what they are doing, and doing it for a reason.

My girlfriend drives my CRX now at Flamboro. Saturday night she got spun and went head on into the wall. She was pretty beat up, but ok. Problem is, the Ambulance didnt even move. Never left the infield to check up on her. A head on collision with a concrete wall is never a mild hit. Pushed the engine back 2 inched, took out the rad, frame rail and rad supports. I talked to them after and they told me that "it didn't look bad, so we assumed she was ok". then he said "she was ok though, she got out on her own".  Yet, my mom who drives the #5 thunder car had a nasty impact with the wall a few months ago, was ok, got out on her own, and they would NOT let her race anymore that night. They made a decision based on their evaluation of her. I respect that. There was no evaluation on Leanne (my gf).

Point is, I'd much rather a slow reaction to an accident, then none. Take what you can get, but make sure you talk directly to the paramedics at the track and voice yuor concerns to them. The 2 paramedics apologized to me when I talked to them, and opnely admitted they had made a mistake, and didn't even realize it until I had mentioned it to them.

Even worse, the track is supposed to receive a response from the ambulance via radio to say the driver is ok....They never got it, and nobody there noticed either. It could have turned out to be a nasty situation, thankfully she was ok.
