the difference between the auto and the manual is horsepower consumption. The auto is like a hydraulic pump that takes power to run. Ive seen dyno tests where a powerglide took 16 hp to operate, a th350 took 24, and a th400 38, and a Ford C-6 was 42 hp. Compared to less than 10 for a manual box.....

if people are consdering switching to Barrie I would say that they would have to conform to the rules. We can't or shouldn't be making rule changes mid season to allow some of these people to race at our track. Change the rules for next year. It wouldn't be fair to those who already conform to Barrie rules who just don't have the $$$ to spend. no 602's or manuals this year. But next year for sure if that's what people want.

Let them all run. Brings fans, drivers and competion, what more could a real racer want. After all it,s not always horse power that wins you the race. Skill my boys, skill. There is no better way to see where you are than to run with them all. Look at fall colours, perfect example.

fall colours is completely different. invitationals are home track rules. the 602 I hear is around 50 HP difference. What's the point in running against them for points races? Might as well stay at home cause we dont have the dollars to spend to play that game! rules are rules and they should be followed as to home track rules unless it's something thats not a big deal then sure give them a little time to adhere to the track rules. that's just my opinion.

16 horse to run an automatic pump, and 10 to run the standard?  At six horse difference ill stay with my auto thanks!

This is just as big a debate as power steering belts taking up power, or loosing the alternator for power gain.  I dont think it really makes that big of a difference.  If you dont have your weights and setup right, the little bit of power aint gonna do squat.

A couple pounds of air preassure the right or wrong way will affect your car long before 6 horse will, as specially when it comes with a 40 lb penalty.
