+ 1 Thayner..Websites are an excellent promotional tool and should be treated as such.. I know some folks that enjoy racing but arent "regulars" that choose their venue based solely on website appearance..That even applies for me too.. Towards the end of the season if two tracks are racing the same night and I'll use Delaware/Oshweken as an example, I'm most likely to go visit whatever track I see might have a close points battle goin on in certain divisions.. With outdated info that just exudes a appearance of unprofessionalism and puts into the mind of the race fan be it casual or otherwise that the track just doesnt care.. Look at the week 1 at Barrie no photo man as an example.. Lots of people were upset by that and they well shoulda been, but that got changed in a real hurry (due in large part to this forum I believe) and we now have a boat load of photos up (not to mention the stellar race reports)lol..So when you look at the other tracks websites and such were really pretty lucky at Barrie that we have a guy in Andy that cares about the place and how professional the website appears .. Again just my own opinion..
Beside that Dave how do you like the site and you are bashing Sunset lol!
Brian W.
Well to answer your question WATTIE.. I like the Sunset website about as much as choking on my own vomit, sliding down a 50 foor razor blade into a swimming pool filled with iodine, jumping off the CN tower and landing on a bicycle with no seat..... well you get the picture.. 😉 Hence the reason I only visit it once or twice every couple months, and during that period I dont see a great deal of change/new info!!LOL Really doesnt matter what I think, as I'm not known to be a Sunset patron just offering my own observations as to how far that site has tumbled over the last 5-6 years..Seems there doing alright for fan support without a decent and accurate website, but that could be due in large part to its a new track and does have some decent fields and competitive drivers and that fact is well known to those in the race community.. Point being if a "new or casual" race fan were to check out the website they would be left wondering what they were in store for taking in a night of action at Sunset with the site looking as unprofessional as it does..I beg to differ with you in the fact I was "Sunset bashing" last time I checked this was an open forum and everyone is entitled to OPINION...Even me!!! 😉
Kudos to you Blackflag, could not agree with you more. To most race fans the web site tells the story of the tape. Up to date web sites sell tickets and of course the race reports. No one tells it better than you.
you have to admit the site looks a hell of a lot better then it did in the past.
Sorry for starting this website discussion. Was only trying to figure out if we were gonna get some more drivers at BSW. Wouldn't mind getting back on topic though. Anybody heard anything from the drivers i had mentioned in an earlier post?
