I don't think this is a very good idea. Well thought out and written, but ill advised. When your 4 cylinder cars can do more in modifications than your Thunder Cars, and probably are going to do faster times than Thunder Cars, it just looks bad. The CRX cars have come close this year already... If you want to go faster, move up a class. If you can't afford it, then do whatever you have to do. Sometimes I can't afford it either. So race in the 4 cylinders one more year, and save your pennies... This is a better idea. If you wanted to make a really interesting class, have a pro mod (I think this is what they call it) class, modifieds with 4 cylinder engines, open wheel. Full adjustability, full tube chassis, race tires... etc... 4 cylinder rear wheel drive only! So the Ford 2.3 would be okay, GM 2.5 would be okay, and Chrysler 2.2 and 2.5 would be okay. They all came in the small trucks. Run it basically unlimited... big cams, holley 500 cfm, 9", whatever you want.

This would be very interesting...

And I hope that you guys who are contemplating these changes have LOTS of money. It would probably be just as expensive (or more) as buying a Thunder Car...

max cam lift on the Mustangs right now is 420 anyways! why not go to a 440 lift max or something along those lines!
I think the guy with the biggest wallet will still win though! the way it is now is to keep the costs down and try to keep in competitive for all! I think leaving the engine rule alone should be kept as well as the tires except you should ba able to us any rating of tires. And the suspension should be opened up! other then that i wouldn't change a thing! that would seperate the rules for the charger and "A" division classes

Have the 4 cylinder class as it now is, and call it chargers or PS4 or whatever you want. Make new rules for the modified 4 cyl class that I suggested, then Thunders then Late Models. Done.

Everyone is happy.

yes that's what I would do! cause the charger class is for rookies or people with less experience or not alot of cash. If you let the the charger class go then the only place to learn in the what is now the "A" division and people may not get to run up front and gain that experience or people may not have enough money to build a competitive car etc. good call Tex...i agree
