I remember years ago, also at Barrie, where they did run the format of the higher handicaps all in one heat and the slower handicaps in the other, and it got to be just as boring and predictable as well, knowing basically what the finish was going to be, unless there was a wreck. Shaughnessy lined up beside Wardle, or Beleskey, or Eacott. That was one good thing when they decided to do heats by number pull, you didn't always have the same guys in the same heats ( when there was good car counts )
Well whatever you do, just have some kinda deal where the 4 slowest qualifiers go to the back.
Lets face it, there are a few guys that should NOT start up front, and that is just being respectfull of the guys who have their poop together.
The 67 got a flat tire in the feature while starting up front, and its only a mirrace it wasnt a disastor for the rest of them! And thats not the first time that happened.

Yah, I got lucky...he sliced my tire but it didn't go down thankfully. That was insane.
guess fast guys never have flats or cause wrecks!

I don't understand your point. The format is what it is. Why have what amounts to three features with differnet starting orders hoping for some excitement because guys that shouldn't be up front start there and you don't even run for points??? Even with the format at Delaware with the split feature a certain car causes all kinds of grief. Keep it simple, award the heats appropriately then it is what it is. Not every race is a barn burner nor should it be. The fast car heats should be awarded slightly more points. this way the slower cars try that much harder to get in the fast heats. I don't even know why you need a handicap. Performance should rule. This is racing right?
