I thought it would be to hard to bring in. Just thought I would throw it out there.

Sorry, my point wasn't to say I would be competitive against those 16v. I'd be stupid to think that. Even with everything being legal, I stand no chance.

You can't change rules to allow others to keep up with cheating, you need to have tech catch the cheaters, and then the class will work itself out. No matter what you do to your rules, your wasting time.

If any car at Flamboro has a signifcant advantage over another of the same make/model, our tech WILL figure out why. But, like Warmachine said, our times are very close. Anyone who is off by a significant time, is not as prepared.

If I chip my car, or run another computer, or reprogram it...whatever the case is. I will get nailed within 2 weeks. I guarantee it.

Weight... In the RF...based on laptimes, not feature positions.
(Not saying this happened) But if i was the points leader by say 25 points, and needed to finish ahead of car X to retain my points lead and blew off some 16 flats to finish in front of him, but only won a feature when I HAD to, according to last years rules i would only get weight when I won features.
So I'm 2 tenths to the good of the whole field, carve through the pack, lay back and finish 3rd, and don't have to put in weight.

I'm all for "Innovative Engineering" but in the entry level class there needs to be a level playing surface.
(Keep in mind i don't race this class, and am just burning time here)
1; I don't agree with high dollar tires, but if i raced in that class i might. I would want the advantage. A spec tire that is in everyones budget would be the plan, BFG T/A or the like are 95ish bucks for the small sizes. But then again, they used to have a tire rule, and guys were shaving and doping them. So a Durometer and Tread depth rule would have to go along with it.

2; SOME of the engines have gotten out out hand, but as mentioned before tech is a nightmare. I have driven stock Neons, Mustangs and Hondas. They suck and are slow. There is obviously some changes being made to 90% of the cars, but where in the hell would you start? I could tech them, and everyone would be illegal, but that wouldn't help. All heads back to lead, lead is the only way to keep the power in check. 300 pounds in the RF would make the car handle so poorly that John Force couldn't win a race at Barrie.

Theres no cure all for a class like this, people want to win whether its the guy who won the last feature, or the guy who finished last.
SO you add a ton of weight to fast lap times, you make the top 50% mad because they've been penalized for being fast, and the bottom 50% happy because now the old junker they never maintain is marginally closer in performance to the "fast guys".

You take away sticky tires you make 6 guys a tenth or two slower, and 15 guys are still slower than them anyways.

Everyone is looking to re engineer the class to remove the dominance of 3, maybe 4 cars. Any rule changes need to reflect the fact that there is generally a large field, with tight competition (for the most part), that save for some of the needless cautions put on some really good 3 wide balls out racing.
HEY, maybe last weeks top 3 has to start from pit lane? Lol. Mind you, last weeks top 2 or 4 start out front but 1 lap down could be exciting.

every 18 year old with a honda and a laptop in toronto knows how to reconfigure his computer. nobody "chips" a honda computer, just load different fuel and timing maps to suit what you're doing, in fact format it for wideband and the fuel looks after itself. teching dohc 16v engines is impossible to do at a saturday night track. almost every part from hondas can be interchanged in different blocks. hop on the honda forums and take a look. you would have to be an absolute Honda expert to spot the things that aren't right without even getting into ecus. heck measuring cams could take hours just to get at on some of these newer cars. have you seen under the hood?

if you let dohc run like pete and kawartha, it's run what you brung, (and maybe that's not bad). anyone who thinks you can tech ecotech, v-tec, duratec, etc, at the track on saturday night is on crack

Lmao @ Rob!  Its worth coming on here just to read what he has to say, I always get a laugh, and usually he is right about it.

Your never gonna make everyone happy, and its usually the bottom half of the feild that has NO CLUE about what they are doing on the track or to their cars that cry.

The fastest car on the track who wins the most races and the points title MUST be cheating if I cant catch him.  ::)

Will Davies won the points 2 years ago and looked like he had a cheater car cause it was fast.  Truth:  He picked up a fast car from another track that worked well at Barrie for LITTLE money, and cercumstances make for a great year.  That is a fast car, and there is not alot spent on it.

If a guy buys a car that makes big STOCK horse power good for him.

Shawn won this year, he won a 4 cyl championship long before most of the guys in this class even THOUGHT about getting into the game.  He can drive, knows his mustang stuff inside and out, and stays out of drama and trouble.

Nobody like a winner.  But that guy isnt always cheating.
