Congrats to #44 Dave Doucette and #13 "The Gipper" Dave Glaze on there performance at Sauble in the Dash for Cash. One reason why no LLM showed up there in my opinion would be that the rules for Sauble cars are 10:1 compression for there built motors, basically they still are the old Alstar Late models rules. This does not favor any Barrie LLM cars as there built motor rules are 9.6:1, I know that Sauble also has a crate motor program but not sure how many run the crate? and I can't see the crate being able to compete even with a weight break.
If any Sauble cars were to show up at Barrie then they would have to add weight 4 sure, how much weight? TBD by the track themselves.
You're analysis is darned close to why LLM guys don't show up. Talking to one team, there was only 1 602 crate in the field vs. the built ....
It's easy in hindsight to say " well yeah.. what were you thinking taking a knife to a gunfight". Weight rules "can" work, but difficult to manage and setup for invitationals.
For the Reynold's Memorial, should be lots of action and no comparison.
Barrie already has a weight penalty in place for Crate Vs. Built motors with LLM. I can't remember the exact number but I'll find out for tonight and re post it on here.
Yes, Barrie does have a weight penalty rule in place, but it is for there own cars....meaning crate vs 9.6:1 what they don't have or may not have thought of yet is the weight penalty for crate vs 10:1 motors for the Sauble cars.
Regardless I'll check it out for you tonight
