Can anyone guess who the North Bay Invaders were..? Also thanks for the well wishes and if I don't make it out for the Reynolds event, I may have the #43 out for a couple events by the end of the year!! I hope.lol. As for getting the old man out, maybe in that thunder car? any more info on that.
There's a team that has crew from North Bay, but based on Peterborough / Omemee that may have shown up... orange and black Monte Carlo #66 I think
HMMMMM the Northern Invaders??? I remember Brian Malcolm, George Steele, and Mike "Beaver" Valliancourt.. And also thinkin that Chris Brandt that WATTIE perviouslly mentioned could have been from North Bay , although I dont remember him.. Were there any more??? Then of course we had Northern Invaders Y2K edition led by Larry and Mike Woodward.. Current Barrie PS driver #11 Adam Misener also hails from North Bay..
Wesley your right its #69 Craig Scott, car was built and maintained in North Bay. Chris Brandt was a stout runner #53, old Lane Mace/ Joe Woods car. The orginal "invader" was one of the McDonald brothers, On off nights George Harrison was known to appear off and on.
I was just trying to remember George Harrison's first name.
Garf McDonald was the first one though in the 1972 season in a teal and yellow Mustang numbered 42. In 1973 he bought John Eacott's Mustang and repainted it blue and white.
The Northern Invaders term came into use with Steele running Alf Strudwick's old 1966 Chevelle (with the cage scavenged from Eacott's old LM Chevelle by Peter S) and Malcolm's Monte Carlo. Joined in later years by Beaver's fast and pretty Laguna S3 and Harrison.
Getting back to Garry Reynolds.. What was his rookie year then?? 1973?? Anyone have any pics of that first car if so?? 😉
