slowel, making a joint rules package for all the track wont do anything. In fact, they are not that far off as it is. Further more, your usually welcome to run another track without registration 1 or 2 nights. Who even does?? ...Not to many. People dont travel, period. They pick a track and stay at it.
I dont get why people think doing this rules package thing will GAIN YOU CARS ??? That has NOTHING to do with the cost of the cars, the interest of racing, or the economy.
Beisides you can only race one track a night anyways. Thats what invitaionals are for, a place we car all race each other and be legal. Peterborough this year=crappy car count. Wont make a difference.
As has already been mentioned, the JYD class the speedway is trying to bring in should bring the fun back into racing. Problem is that track needs some response as to how many people would be interested and will bring out cars before taking any further action.
You got me on one of my points but I guess I was referring that one to lm it's in a sad state!
Racing anything other then a mini stock is in a sad state.. Sunset is not bad, but for what they built they are not up to snuff either. But, that being said, its nice to go to the track with the smaller car counts and just enjoy the guys having fun racing each other, I enjoy a less stressfull pack of cars on the smaller track, as a driver, same payouts, less carnage week to week.
Thunder Cars are dead.
Yes, that they are..
But I'm not going to let you run away from this without any blame...
Everything you just wrote you have known for many years.. You didn't have a revelation at the 2012 meeting, nothing changed...
Rather than standing up for what you always knew, you sat on it, content to win championships, while you preach that anyone can do it if they work hard enough. Anyone who questions that is buried with they haven't won one, so what do they know or they didn't work hard enough. BS finally, BS!!
So now, as you exit stage left from Thunder, the truth actually comes out... Bit late to be of any use now, as every car on the track is the franken-fuck you describe, while every Thunder car has been cutup.
Its not just you, its everyone. The class clearly was doomed from day 1.
Now I'm not new to internet sh*tstorms, so I'm going to leave you with a single reply, and no more.
You SEEM to be a smart fellow, but drop in on conversations without a actual name to go off of, and no mention of a home track, and proceed to stir the pot. Somewhat "Ross"esque so to speak.....
#1, a BIG #1, I dont speak for Jim. His opinions may differ from mine. So anything i said/say can lay on me.
#2, Nothing i posted above was known, or used on the 12 car. We found out 3rd week from the end of this year. The plain and simple fact is A TON of hard work made both championships possible. ALL stock metric front end parts from spindle to spindle. I spent an entire saturday doing bumpsteer and ackerman in a -15 garage with no heat.
#3, The hard work portion. The final night for the feature we threw a left upper arm and different RR spring in it, changed outside rubber, stagger, changed wedge and sway bar settings.
The advantage we have always had, is the most determined driver i have ever worked with, who passed or lapped every car up to 4th (5th?) on the outside.
#3 The engine was on moroso stock replacment mounts.
In addition to the weeks of work in my single car townhouse garage, with no flowbench, no dyno, no trick stuff and 30 year old engine equipment that i wouldnt trade for the WORLD. All the "junk" I use has won many, many championships before, with a master at the wheels who taught me to THINK instead of having machines do it for you. Thanks to that I managed to make power with heads that no other engine builder could figure out. Couple that with a educated guess on a camshaft that no one would think of using, and you win championships. That falls into the hard work portion as well...
As far as letting "the cat out of the bag" If those parts are allowed, i think everyone should know about them. Some people looked pretty surprised when it was made public you could run other than metric parts, and id like to give them a head start for next year. Competition is good, i thrive on it, faster cars make me work harder and earn it.
I would like to say i take offence to your comments, especially the preaching hard work portion, but in truth without a reputable name attached to them, it just makes me want to dominate even harder for next year, just in case you are a competitor.
And i would like to make a clarifaction of my own,
Thunder car is dead, Bring on the challenger
